When I found out that the Dropkick Murphys were playing, I was exited that I
was gonna see them first time in 2 years, and for free on top of that!
Still tired from last nights' Flogging Molly show, I woke up, brushed my
teeth, ate, and got the fuck out of my house as fast as I could.
The anticipation made the train ride seem longer than usual, but I was
listening to music, so I was all good.
When I got to Sam Goody I saw a big line of people was already standing
there, to myself I thought, "no way am I getting in there", but somehow they
managed to squeeze most of us fuckers in there, the rest of the line had to
wait for us to finish so they could see the Murphys do their thing.
At the start of the set, Al barr announced that tonight's show would be
acoustic. It was really a treat to see this band in acoustic, they prove that
they don't need distortion to bring down the house and get a pit going.
They played songs such as The Dubliners cover "Wild Rower", the always
crowd pleasing, "Boys On The Docks", "Which Side Are You On", Gangs All Here"
and a ho down version of "Skinhead on the MTBA" or "Ho Down On The MTBA",
during which the skinheads and punks, as well as jocks and preps (considering
there were such people there) were asked to put their arm around the neighbor
and sing along in unity. Sing loud, sing proud!
