  • The Dropkick Murphys tour to support the new album"Sing Loud, Sing Proud" has finally come to NY. I was excited because they are one of my favorite bands ever!

I got to the door only to find out that I was not on the guest list. I was bummed out at first, but decided that there is no time to shed any tears, I have a show to attend to, and what a great show it was.

I came in in the middle of the Toxic Narcotic set. TN is a hardcore band from Boston. I have seen those guys before and I just never got into them. They are just not my "cup of tea." The lead singer can't sing for shit, and ruins it for the rest of the band.

Despite the show getting off on the wrong foot, things got better. Swingin' Utters got on stage, and rocked the place. It was great, everyone really got into them, and why not they are a really good band to see live. I was not much of a SU fan before, but after seeing them, I think I found a new fave band.

Next came Dropkick Murphys. Spicey(The bagpipe player) came out and started playing the intro to "For Boston," their new opening song(The old DKM fans remembered them playing "Candence to Arms/Do Or Die" in the begining) the crowd went fuckin crazy. The next 3 songs were also from the new album "Sing Loud, Sing Proud." The songs were: "The Legend of Fin MacCumhail," Which Side Are You On?," and "The Rocky Road To Dublin." DKM played most of the songs from the new album. They also played some older crowd favorites, such as: "Barroom Heros," "Do or Die," "Caps and Bottles," the traditional "Finnigans Wake," "Boys On the Docks," and offcourse "Skinhead On the MBTA" to which most of the audience got up on stage to sing along to.

The show was great. I can't wait to see Dropkick Murphys again, it's been one day since and I already miss them. Hope they come soon. Cheers!
