They're gritty, mostly female, with a queer member. Sounds like a Kill Rock Stars band to me! But the greatest difference is that these guys fucking rock. Let's face it, outside of a few gems here and there the label hasn't brought us much since its heyday. The band compliments the label and it's over categorized "sound" well. The vocals aren't whiny and screechy but very full and well rounded. They have no guitars, only a heavily distorted bass that more than does the trick. It's really rockin' music with a weird feel to it. College radio is already eating this band up. The White Stripes can't help but come to mind when you take in the simplicity of the songs and the bare minimum drum work. This is still a very solid release that lives up to the bands full length.
